Reliability of Shear Wave Elastography and Ultrasound Measurement in Children with Unilateral Spastic Cerebral Palsy

چکیده
In clinical practice, few data exist on the feasibility of performing reliable shear wave elastography (SWE) and ultrasonography (US) measurements in spastic muscles children with cerebral palsy (CP). Ten unilateral CP took part SWE US assessment tibialis anterior medialis gastrocnemius during two sessions separated by a 1-wk interval. Intra- inter-investigator reliability modulus (µ) muscle thickness (MT) measurements, at neutral maximal dorsiflexion angles both legs, was assessed investigators different levels experience. Reliability coefficient variation (CV), standard error measurement intra-class correlation (ICC). µ insufficient, regardless angle position (CV >10% >20% for angles, respectively). The intra- MT good >10%, ICC >0.74) legs. must be performed using rigorous standardized protocol while should considered an important parameter to monitor change morphology.

Background and purpose: Cerebral palsy (CP) is a term used to classify children with non-progressive lesions in the developing brain. Bilateral spastic is the most common type of cerebral palsy. Reduced ability to manipulate objects is one of limiting factors in daily activities of these children and its improvements is one of the most important therapeutic goals. The aim of this study was to i...
